Disney's Beauty and the Beast returns to the Playhouse, June 20 - August 24

Disney's Beauty and the Beast

The family musical Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, in its original World non-profit premiere production, opens June 20 and runs thru August 24 at the Cumberland County Playhouse, sponsored by Looney & Chadwell Title Services and Kenneth & Carol Ann Chadwell

Since first playing at the Playhouse in the show’s first production by a non-profit regional theater, the production’s sets and costumes have been seen from coast-to-coast in rental engagements at other theaters. Now, they’re home and spruced up for the summer run of Belle’s adventures with Mrs. Potts, Lumiere, Gaston, Cogsworth, Babette, and the fearful but lonely Beast himself.

The giant production is directed and choreographed by Michele Colvin, with musical direction by Ron Murphy, and features special effects by Hall Enterprises, scenery by Curtis Phillips, and Terry Schwab’s nationally-known costumes.

Playhouse leading lady, Nicole Begue, stars as Belle and San Francisco’s Nathaniel Hackmann, with 6’4” frame and magnificent baritone, stars as the Beast.

Jeff Guilfoyle and Stephanie Brown join the Playhouse from Arizona Rep, as Jeff’s ringing voice and agile power bring Gaston to life and Stephanie swivels as oo-la-la dust bunny Babette. Playhouse stars Jason Ross and Daniel Black are featured as Lumiere and Cogsworth, with Carol Irvin opening her drawers as Madame le Grande Bouche, the wardrobe.

Also in rotating rep at Playhouse are Flight of the Lawnchair Man, sponsored by Crossville, Inc., and First Baptist of Ivy Gap, sponsored by Crossville Ford-Lincoln-Mercury; and Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming, sponsored by First National Bank of Tennessee. Tickets can be purchased from the Playhouse Box Office at 931-484-5000. Call the box office for specific show dates and times.
